Interim coach for the Sacramento Kings Alvin Gentry has tested positive for COVID-19, according to ESPN. 67-year old Gentry told the media outlet he's mostly asymptomatic with the exception of a scratchy throat. Gentry noted that the rest of the team is now undergoing testing. Gentry must show proof of two negative COVID-19 tests before returning. The Kings are currently at 11-17 so far this season.
The Kings are due to face the Washington Wizards at the Golden 1 Center Wednesday night. Gentry was named interim head coach in November after the Kings fired Luke Walton following a disappointing start to the season. NBC Sports is reporting that assistant coach Doug Christie will fill in as head coach for Wednesday's matchup.
