Folsom Lake Rises To 425 Feet After Storms, Dam Starts Releasing Water

Authorities at Folsom Lake are now releasing water to prevent flooding. Over the summer, the lake was at historic lows due to the drought. Now, due to the large amount of rain activity over the last few weeks, the lake has added 425 feet of water. The operator of the dam says the amount they will be releasing will be relatively small for now. They want to make sure Folsom Lake has enough space to accommodate upcoming storms and the spring runoff.
