Sacramento Emergency Calls Have Median Response Time Of 10 Minutes

The median response time to Emergency calls in Sacramento is 10 minutes 48 seconds, which is an 8.9% increase in the last year.
Sacramento fire takes almost two minutes longer to arrive at an emergency than the national average. Sacramento has half-million people, 35,000 businesses, and just 507 firefighting personnel.

Most rural fire departments were once on an all-volunteer basis, but now stations are challenged to get volunteer firefighters. In 2012, departments began mixing volunteers and part-time firefighters to help meet required staffing.
