Some California lawmakers are now isolating after attending a going away party for a former Assembly member. The party was held to honor the departure of Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez which resulted in a positive covid test from one of the attendees.
The event took place on Tuesday night where Senator Josh Becker tested positive the next morning after attending the party. Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon is now ordering members to isolate until next week. Yesterday, Becker tweeted that he's been feeling fine and is grateful to be fully vaccinated including receiving his booster shot. Gonzalez also tweeted she is feeling fine and has tested negative but will stay in isolation.
Members will be tested again on Monday before entering the building. The exact number of how many members who are currently isolating remains unclear.
