The first suspect arrested in connection to the K Street mass shooting is making his first court appearance.

Sacramento Police say that they believe Dandre Martin was one of the shooters, who was appointed a private lawyer who takes on cases when the public defender's office is busy. His lawyer said his case continues April 26th and that they plan to go over police reports. Now the number of people arrested in connection to a mass shooting in Sacramento last weekend is now up to three, but one is already out on bail. Smiley Martin, who is the brother of suspect Dandrae Martin, was arrested Monday morning for assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and possession of a machine gun. Police are now saying that gun was stolen and was altered to fire like an automatic.

Daviyonne Dawson was arrested later in the day Tuesday, but was released after posting a $50,000 bail. Police say another gun was recovered from Dawson, but investigators do not believe it was used in the shooting. As of now, none of the three men has been charged with any crimes directly related to the shooting. The deadly shooting has made national headlines and drawn messages of condolence and condemnation from local and state officials, including Governor Gavin Newsom, as well as President Joe Biden.

The Sacramento Police Department say, as far as the shooting investigation goes, they are still looking into how everyone is connected, as well as any possible motives.
