Gov. Newsom Calls For More Water Cut Backs, Threatens Mandatory Orders

California could be looking at mandatory water restrictions if local agencies and California residents if they don't conserve more water over the next two months. As the drought continues, Governor Gavin Newsom is asking the State's largest water suppliers to try and conserve more water, saying mandatory cutbacks could be on the way. The Governor is still backing the local agency approach to conservation, rather than the blanket rations ordered during the last drought. But Governor Newsom says if water use remains high for the next two months, the State could be forced to put in place mandatory restrictions.
