Jan. 6th Insurrection Hearings Start Tonight, Here Is What You Can Expect

The House January 6th Capitol riot hearings are underway. Democratic Representative Bennie Thompson of Mississippi opened the hearing saying the President of the United States tried to stop the transfer of power. The panel is investigating last year's attack on the Capitol. Republicans argue the majority-Democrat committee isn't legitimate because House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was in charge of appointing the members. Democrats counter it's important to get to the bottom of what then-President Trump and his backers might have known about the assault on the Capitol.
