The Chancellor of UC Davis is offering a refund to students after their graduation ceremony was cut short because of high temperatures last Saturday. Chancellor Gary S. May sent out a statement on social media apologizing for the short commencement and offered a refund. The university is offering a $58 refund for those who did not walk, covering the cost of the cap, gown, and tassels. The ceremony was held outdoors at UC Davis Health Stadium. It ended halfway through because 36 people called for medical help and 6 ended up in the hospital for heat related illnesses. Chancellor May says he is deeply sorry for not being able to have the graduting class celebrate their milestone and says the university is looking to hold a make-up ceremony.
