Sacramento County won't be voting on a proposed cannabis tax this November. On Tuesday, the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors voted the measure down. If it had made it to the ballot and passed, the board would have been given the power to approve and tax pot dispensaries in the unincorporated parts of the county. The revenue would have been used to bolster the county's general fund. The only cities in the county that allow marijuana dispensaries are Sacramento and Isleton. The ballot measure would have paved the way for more dispensaries in other cities. Officials estimated the move would have generated nine-million-dollars in annual tax revenue.
