While California is still in a serious drought, one town could be in trouble. The Washington Post reports the city of Coalinga, about an hour southwest of Fresno, is in danger of running out of water by as soon as the end of the year. The town reportedly has 17,000 residents and a portion from an aqueduct which serves as it's only water source. Should the supply run out, it's possible the city budget could take a hit as it would have to buy water on the open market. Meantime, meetings with state government officials are ongoing. The Post notes residents are expecting big jumps in their water bills and have started to gather five-gallon jugs for their own supply.
