California Has The 3rd Highest Teacher Shortage, According To New Study

California has the 3rd highest teacher shortage in the country according to data collected by the education research firm Scholaroo. They put together a list based on a US teacher-to-state population ratio and it revealed that California had just over 7 teachers per 1,000 people. The survey results say low salaries, pandemic-related issues, and working conditions all played a role in California's ranking. Florida was ranked with the highest teacher shortage, while Oregon had the second highest. North Dakota had the lowest rate of teacher shortage with more than 13 teachers per 1,000 students.
