  1. The Sacramento City Council has approved a resolution declaring Sacramento a sanctuary city for transgender people. The resolution, introduced by Councilmember Katie Valenzuela, was approved unanimously on Tuesday. It says the city will uphold the rights of transgender people, adding that no city resources will be used to detain transgender minors or adults who are seeking gender-affirming care. Click here to read more.
  2. New estimates now suggest downtown Sacramento could lose more than four billion dollars over the next 20 years if state workers switched to remote work. Click here to read more.

Still no word this morning on when Governor Newsom will deliver his state of the state address. Newsom cancelled his state of the state address earlier this month, claiming to wait for the results of Proposition 1. Yet, the results are in and the Governor still has not rescheduled his address. Click here to read more.
  4. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has picked his presidential running mate, Nicole Shanahan. The Independent candidate told a crowd of supporters in Oakland, California the 38-year-old attorney and tech entrepreneur is his choice for VP. Shanahan said she gravitated to the Democratic party in her youth, but she believes it has lost its way and it not the party of peace and compassion. Click here to read more.
