The 2018 Broadway At Music Circus season continues with Gypsy, one of musical theater’s most acclaimed and enduring works. This landmark show, with a celebrated score by Jule Styne and Stephen Sondheim, is based on the life of burlesque queen Gypsy Rose Lee.
A singularly focused mother takes her daughters on a cross -country adventure in pursuit of fame and fortune on the dying Vaudeville circuit.
The New York Times called the score “one of the best for any show ever.” Classic songs include “You Gotta Get A Gimmick,” “Let Me Entertain You” and the show stopping “Everything’s Coming Up Roses.”
Performances of Gypsy are Tuesday, July 24 through Sunday, July 29 at the Wells Fargo Pavilion.
Kitty talked with David Hess, who plays the role of Herbie.
