For the eighth year, the Sacramento Beer and Chili Festival returns to Sacramento on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Roosevelt Park. This event will feature a chili cook off competition (industry, individual, vegetarian, People's Choice) and beer tastings provided by local and national breweries. Live entertainment will be provided by Sac Prep Music Academy who will be giving a special performance of their Beatles Guitar Project. A DJ will also be spinning tunes. Beer tastings will be provided by breweries including Fort Point Beer Company, Booch Craft, Bear Republic Brewing Company, River City Brewing Company and Two Rivers Cider. The festival will have bike parking available and is dog-friendly. Sysco is the main sponsor of the 8th annual Sacramento Beer and Chili Festival. Event tickets vary in cost. Full access tickets are $40 and include unlimited tastes of beer and chili while supplies last. Tickets for unlimited tastes of chili only are $25.00. Tickets for beer only are $25.00. Please note that Children 10 & up must purchase a 'Chili Only’ ticket. All tickets are subject to a convenience fee. Tickets increase by $5 at the door.

Sponsored by Sysco, a portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit Sacramento Preparatory Music Academy and will raise money to support and advance access to lifelong learning opportunities in music arts education. The academy’s objective is to present public performances of music, to sponsor lecture-demonstrations of topics related to music education and to increase community awareness of the importance of artistic expression for individual satisfaction and growth through music arts. "Sacramento Preparatory Music Academy, a Midtown 501c3 Nonprofit Org, brings an uncompromising commitment to create and foster an environment for the appreciation of Music Arts for individuals, their families and their community, through programs like The Beatles Guitar Project, The Midtown Vanguard Jazz Series, & SPMA Guitar Project. SPMA is a vibrant community of students and performing artists located at 2420 N St #145, Sacramento, CA 95816,” said President & Artistic Director Benjamin J. McClara.
