Mayor Steinberg Reveals Plans for Old Sac Waterfront at "Gather" Event

For decades, city leaders have realized that Old Sacramento needs a revamp to make it more relevant and appealing to residents and visitors. Mayor Darrell Steinberg Thursday will lay out a funded plan for making that happen.

Joined by other Councilmembers and Old Sacramento business leaders, Mayor Steinberg will kick off a free Gather Waterfront event featuring food tents and trucks, communal dining tables, artisan booths, a kids’ play area, a live band and a DJ. Gather is a popular event held each month in Oak Park by Unseen Heroes, which will be replicating it for one night on the waterfront. The evening is sponsored by the All About Sacramento Community Fund, the Downtown Sacramento Partnership and Visit Sacramento.
