Our 12th elementary school soon breaks ground for projected Fall 2021 opening!

What’s in a name? Well, everything if you are part of the Rocklin Unified School District! RUSD is known for our educational excellence and fantastic community support so we are turning to our outstanding teachers, staff, students, families and community to help pick a name that captures the tremendous positive spirit RUSD is known for! 

Check out the Fast Facts below about the new school, and then get us your suggestions by 4:30pm on Tuesday, June 4th

Fast Facts:

·Location: the corner of Painted Pony Lane and West Oaks Boulevard, in the Whitney Ranch area.

·Size: 65,000 square feet and include an Administration Building, Learning Resource Center, Multipurpose Building, three buildings with 29 classrooms and one portable classroom.

·The new school is scheduled to be completed in Winter 2020 with an expected Fall 2021 opening!

Suggestions to think about your name ideas: identification, uniqueness, honoring role models, history, location, values, pride, representation and inspirations!

·Inspiring-meaningful to school children

·Enduring-likely to stand the test of time

·Local Connection-ties to our community, history, etc

·Educational-we are known as the district of educational excellence

·Complimentary – compliments the names of our existing outstanding RUSD schools

Once the name suggestions are gathered, they will be reviewed for compliance with our board policy and then submitted to our Board of Trustees. Then naming of the new school will be voted on at an upcoming Board of Trustee meeting. And stay tuned for more on a groundbreaking celebration Fall 2019. The new elementary school is projected to open Fall 2021.
