Listen: Nilda Valmores, Executive Director of My Sister's House.
Last night, a Sacramento police officer, Tara O’Sullivan, lost her life when responding to a domestic violence call. O'Sullivan is just one of many stories that show how dangerous domestic violence situations are, not only for victims but for police officers. In 2017, more officers were shot responding to domestic violence calls compared to any other fire-arm related incident.
My Sister's House recognizes the dangers cops face when responding to domestic violence disturbances. We thank Officer O'Sullivan and police officers for their service and for helping in the fight against domestic violence.
