Kids Will Enjoy Garbage Trucks on Parade this July 17, in Roseville

Listen: Desiree' Pickert, Roseville Utility Exploration Center says Roseville's Solid Waste Utility will be putting on a garbage truck "fashion show" on Wednesday, July 17, at Maidu Regional Park, 1550 Maidu Drive, Roseville as part of Big Trucks Summer. All the different kinds of garbage trucks will be on parade to razzle dazzle the crowd with the dirty work they handle. They’ll be emptying bins, dumping organics waste, loading dumpsters, and crushing furniture.

The free family fun starts at 9:30 a.m. with a Roseville Library storytime. From 10 to 11 a.m., utility workers will display their trucks, demonstrate what they do, and open them up for truck lovers to climb in and explore. Visitors will have an opportunity to meet utility employees and learn about utility services and programs. The Utility Exploration Center will provide fun and games to help kids learn more about waste reduction and what Roseville Utilities do to improve the city every day.

Following the garbage trucks event, Big Trucks Summer will move over to the Utility Exploration Center/Mahany Park, 1501 Pleasant Grove Blvd., on July 24 (Pipescope and Vactor Trucks) and July 31 (Electric Line Trucks).
