While the rain may have stopped WEAVE’s Walk a Mile in Her Shoes in May, we couldn’t let a little weather stop us from rescheduling the celebration! On Sunday, August 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., WEAVE is excited to host it’s Walk a Mile in Her Shoes "Shoe-Over" at its midtown office located at 1900 K Street. The event will raise money to support survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence and sex trafficking.
At the event, walkers decked out in super hero outfits and heels will receive a passport to use as they navigate through a re-vamped walk route that starts at WEAVE’s Midtown Office and courses through midtown, with pit stops at the following community partners for food, libations, activities and a stamp for their passport:
·"1/4 Mile" Stop - Mango's
·"1/2 Mile" Stop - Kennedy Gallery
·"3/4 Mile" Stop - WEAVE's Art Mural Alley
·"1 Mile" Stop - TRUE Boutique
Walkers will finish at WEAVE’s midtown parking lot where they can stay and enjoy adult beverages, music from DJ Epik, visit vendor booths, and kids can participate in activities in the Sacramento Children’s Museum Kid’s Zone. There will also be food trucks on-site.
