Rocklin Patriot Day is Sunday, Sept 8 at Quarry Park

Listen: Wendy Smith, Community Program Coordinator with the Rocklin Police Department

Rocklin Patriot Day is Sunday, September 8, from 11 to 3 at Quarry Park with demonstrations and displays featuring law enforcement and firefighters, veterans, and many others. Special activities for children as well.

LIsten to Wendy's interview to hear all the details.

The proud hosts of Patriot Day, the Rocklin Public Safety Foundation (RPSF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2011. Our purpose is to enhance public safety in the City of Rocklin, California by establishing programs that help make our community a dynamic and vibrant place to live.

Since our inception, we have successfully raised funds to supplement the city budget. We are responsible for a wealth of benefits to the community, including:

  • K-9 officer
  • Child ID computer, which assists law enforcement with locating lost or missing children
  • “File of Life” pamphlets, which outline the concept of storing medical and contact information for use by first responders
  • College scholarships awarded to graduating high school seniors pursuing public service careers

The RPSF is overseen by a board of directors responsible for directing the financial resources available to the police and fire departments. They also determine the fundraising needs for items required by both departments to best serve the citizens of Rocklin.

Our History

The first RPSF fundraiser, held in June of 2011, generated nearly $25,000 and enabled the purchase and training of Immo, our new K-9 officer. The 1st Annual Patriot Day, celebrated on September 11, 2011, raised an additional $3,000 in donations. We commemorated our incorporation as a nonprofit by purchasing five traffic-enforcement LiDAR guns in July, 2012.

We are honored to receive ongoing recognition for the work we do. The Rocklin Chamber of Commerce nominates us annually for Nonprofit of the Year, and they named us Outstanding Nonprofit in January, 2017. We are also the proud recipients of the 2014 Roy and Peggy Ruhkala Community Service Award.

Rocklin is our home, too. We are proud to do our part to make it an outstanding place to live.
