'Aquaman' Star Jason Momoa, ‘Charmed’ Standouts Combs, Krause Among First To Attend Wizard World Sacramento

Jason Momoa, who rocketed to superstardom inJustice League(2017) andAquaman(2018), “Charmed” starsHolly Marie CombsandBrian Krause,Richard Grieco(A Night At The Roxbury,"21 Jump Street"),Thomas Ian Nicholas(Rookie of the Year, American Pie),Sam J. Jones(“Flash Gordon”) and pro wrestling legendThe Honky Tonk Manare the first celebrities announced for Wizard World Sacramento, set for September 20-22 at Cal Expo.

Momoa will appear on Saturday, Sept. 21; Combs, Krause, Nicholas and Jones are scheduled to attend all three days; Greico and Honky Tonk will appear on Saturday and Sunday. Other stars will be announced closer to the event.

Momoa had significant roles in the popular series "Baywatch" and "Stargate: Atlantas" before a turn as "Khal Drago" on the acclaimed "Game of Thrones" was followed by his first appearance as "Aquaman" inBatman vs. Superman Dawn of Justicein 2016. That led to a larger role as the undersea superhero inJustice Leagueand star billing in the hit release that wowed theater audiences over the 2018-19 holiday season.

Momoa's other credits include the title role in bothConan the Barbarian(2011) andBraven(2018) and opposite Bruce Willis and John Goodman in last year'sOnce Upon a Time in Venice.

The event marks Wizard World’s return to the California state capital, and first at Cal Expo. Wizard World Sacramento was held from 2014-2017 at the Sacramento Convention Center. The event will feature many of the world’s top comics creators, an outstanding array of programming, live entertainment, cosplay contests, gaming and more.

Wizard World events bring together thousands of fans of all ages to celebrate the best in pop culture: movies, television, gaming, live entertainment, comics, sci-fi, graphic novels, toys, original art, collectibles, contests and more. The 10th event scheduled on the 2019 Wizard World calendar, Sacramento show hours are Friday, September 20, 4-9 p.m.; Saturday, September 21, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sunday, September 22, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Kids 10 and under are admitted free with paid adult.

Wizard World Sacramento is also the place for cosplay, with fans young and old showing off their best costumes throughout the event. Fans dressed as every imaginable character – and some never before dreamed – will roam the convention floor and participate in the famed Wizard World Costume Contest on Saturday evening.

Believe It! 'Greatest American Hero' William Katt To Make Wizard World Debut In Sacramento, September 20-22

Believe it or not, Wizard World fans are walkin’ on air, as “The Greatest American Hero” starWilliam Kattmakes his first Wizard World appearance in Sacramento, September 20-22 at Cal Expo. Katt, who starred as “Ralph Hinkley” (later, “Ralph Hanley”) in the campy sci-fi comedy series from 1981-83, will greet fans, sign autographs, pose for photo ops and conduct an interactive Q&A about his career, including his most famous role as the reluctant superhero who couldn’t quite control his alien-given powers.

In addition to Katt,Michael Raymond James(“Tell Me a Story,” “Once Upon a Time”),Drew Fuller(“Charmed”) andJake Stormoen(Mythica,Extinct) have been added to the celebrity roster.

Katt, who had roles in episodes of popular early-to-mid 1970’s series like “M*A*S*H,” “Emergency!,” “Kung Fu,” “Kojak” and “Ironside,” co-starred inCarrie(1976) with Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie,First Love(1977) opposite Susan Dey andBig Wednesday(1978) alongside Gary Busey and Jan-Michael Vincent. He then took his most popular role in “The Greatest American Hero” as the high school teacher whose chance meeting with aliens ended with him receiving a suit with super powers (but no instructions).
