Listen: Carol Garcia, Former Roseville Mayor, Breast Cancer Survivor and Co-Founder of the Placer Breast Cancer Foundation

This 12th annual Hot Pink Fun Run has become a major celebration and a remembrance for all the breast cancer survivors and those who were not as fortunate to beat the dreaded disease.

The Sunday (Sept. 29) event in Downtown Roseville is expected to attract approximately 1,000 pink-clad runners, many of them dressed in various outlandish pink outfits. Many dogs and children will also participate.

This is the largest fundraiser each year for the Placer Breast Cancer Foundation – which involves thousands of participants, dozens of volunteers, and raises between $25,000 to $30,000 in funds for local breast cancer research

One of the more emotional and uplifting moments is the1-mile Breast Cancer Survivors run (at 9:05 am), which includes children and dogs.

A new facet this year is the addition of Bubbles & Brews – a free pancake breakfast for all participants that comes with complimentary beer or champagne following the run.
