The Front Street Shelter has to close due to the coronavirus and people are needed to foster and adopt. Call for an appointment.
Visitor access will be by appointment only. If you need assistance during normal business hours (12:00 pm - 5:00 pm) with (1) picking up a lost pet or (2) dropping off an injured or aggressive stray animal, please text (preferred) or call 916-385-8794. Due to extremely limited staffing, they are only able to provide these two services.
In a statement they said, "The Front Street Animal Shelter is temporarily closing our public counter and suspending our adoption services in order to combat the spread of COVID-19. We apologize for the inconvenience that this may cause, but it is essential we do our part to reduce the spread of this disease."
