Ford donates $100,000 to Donate4Sacramento. Also, last week, Ford announced it will produce plastic FDA-approved face shields and distribute them to hospitals around the country in need of supplies. As of 3/31, Ford has shipped Sacramento area hospitals 4,000 face shields with more on the way.Dignity Health (500 shields), Sutter (500 shields), and UC Davis (3,000 shields) have been sent one of the first shipments country-wide. At Ford, we feel a deep obligation to step up and contribute in times of need and hope these supplies help bring support to medical workers on the front lines of our communities.Ford’s U.S. design team is quickly creating transparent full-face shields for medical workers and first responders. The face shields fully block the face and eyes from accidental contact with liquids and when paired with N95 respirators can be a more effective way to limit potential exposure to coronavirus than N95 respirators alone.
