Listen: Emily Brown, RN who works at the Medical Acute Unit at Mercy General talks about how several Dignity Health hospitals in the Sacramento region opened ‘essential supply grocery stores’ to provide basic groceries and home cleaning supplies for staff. Some of the items offered at prices below supermarket rates are milk, eggs, proteins, ready to go meals, even highly sought after items like hand sanitizer, paper towels and toilet paper.
Care staff can work varying hours and getting to the grocery store can be very challenging, not to mention trips to the store are now often met with several empty shelves. Dignity Health wanted to ensure as our front line staff care for our communities, that they too were taken care of.
