The Sacramento Zoo Remains Open and Offers New Virtual Programming

The Sacramento Zoo continues to welcome guests to our campus within Land Park. The zoo reopened on June 15 with new safety protocols in place, including an online reservation and ticketing system, a contactless entry and graphics detailing the importance of wearing a mask and social distancing.  

In accordance with State and County health guidelines, the indoor buildings of the zoo (reptile house, gift shop and café) remain closed, while gifts and food are still available through outdoor kiosks. Many animals are available for viewing outdoors such as lions, giraffes, flamingos, primates, the new alligators and more. Visit the zoo's Plan Your Visit Page to purchase tickets and reserve your time at the zoo.

Are you interested in enjoying the zoo from your living room? Are you looking for a special, personalized animal experience for your child’s next birthday, family gathering or other special occasion? The zoo has just launched a new online experience called Zoo to You!  

This interactive, virtual zoo experience allows you to enjoy the zoo without leaving your home! This program features a 15-minute private Zoom experience with a live animal ambassador and zoo educator, PLUS an easy to follow packet with activities to engage your group before and after your virtual encounter. Educational and entertaining Zoo to You topics currently include Birds of Prey, Reptiles, and Habitats.
