The American River Bike Patrol is introducing a program to give free bike helmets to children who need them, in order to reduce the risk of traumatic brain injury. Helmets are supplied by UC Davis Trauma Prevention and Outreach.

The next First Saturday meetup will occur on Sat., Sept. 4 from 9 a.m. to noon at Discovery Park in Sacramento. Parents needing helmets for their kids can show up there and pick them up or be put on a list to get them, should we run out that day. First Saturday meetups occur at different locations each month, but are posted on our website, americanriverbikepatrol.org.
