Listen: Dale Carlson, Founder of Ticket Dream Foundation. :As our community is fully back in school,Sacramento-based non-profit, Ticket to Dream Foundation, revealed today its impact for the Back to School season, showcasing that it helped more foster youth for Back to School season this year than ever before!
For the 2021 / 2022 school year, Ticket to Dreamhelped over 182,000 foster youth, delivering 3.6 million dollars in products and funding including backpacks, school supplies, laptops, education assistance funding, new clothes, masks, socks, shoes, makeup and hygiene items, and funds for fall extracurriculars.Nearly $700,000 of product and donations helping foster kids in California specifically. Brands including Famous Footwear, Allworth Financial, Bombas and Mattress Firm supported this effort.
Ticket to Dream also opened a new warehouse in Roseville (thanks to a grant from Allworth Financial), making this big give possible, by:
- Allowing Ticket to Dream to bring in thousands of products at a time, sort them and ship the products to our foster care non-profit partners all the across the country with enough room and airflow to take social distancing precautions
- Allowing Ticket to Dream to host Warehouse Wednesdays, where 6-8 volunteers sign up to help in the warehouse every Wednesday to help get these products out -- a great company volunteer activity
