Hiring is a challenge right now. Job openings remain near historic levels (nearly 11 million openings, according to the latest JOLTS report) and companies are having trouble retaining talent with quit rates at 2.9%. As such, companies are having to pivot to get to year-end projects. According to a recent survey we ran, 74% of companies are planning to hire contract workers to help with year-end projects.
We also learned that:
- Hiring from anywhere:
- 86% of Sacramento companies are willing to look outside their city to find skilled job candidates.
- Many are leveraging outside agencies to help recruit (44%), onboard (33%) and manage (46%) contract workers.
- Help for the holidays:
- Workers plan to take an average of 7 days off by year-end.
