The MOSAC resulted from an innovative public-private partnership spanning 15-plus years between the Powerhouse Science Center and the State of California, the City of Sacramento, the Sacramento County Office of Education, the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) and a range of corporate partners and individual donors.
As an anchor of informal education in science experiences, MOSAC will serve the Sacramento region by piquing curiosity and sparking imagination in visitors of all ages with hands-on interactive exhibits, a state-of-the-art digital theater and community events that explore the wonders of science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM).
