The City of Sacramento conducted a sweep of vehicles and trailers used by homeless people last week in an area called Commerce Circle. Under the city vehicle parking code, vehicles must be registered and cannot park in the same spot for more than 72 hours and some had been there for months.
Homeless advocates and some elected officials have pushed back against the sweep. In response, several local business leaders held a press conference today to address the homeless sweeps. Barry Broom is President and CEO of the Greater Sacramento Economic Council.
