During the early days of the pandemic, Southwest Airlines pushed for their senior employees to take an early retirement and more than 19% of the workforce accepted.
Then, as the demand for travel returned, Southwest Airlines had a hard time getting people back to work..
So over the holiday season, Southwest has been asking for corporate employees to help out by answering customer service questions, push wheelchairs, and assist in any other way possible to help relieve the pressure from the overworked staff at these airports.
