"Fill the Boot" Fundraiser for Firefighter's Burn Institute this Week

For the 8th year, Ryan Garder will spend days living in an aerial basket above a truck to raise awareness for the Firefighters Burn Institute and the work they do to help fire victims.

 Firefighters from many of the fire departments serving Sacramento and surrounding communities will support the Firefighters Burn Institute (FFBI) in our annual Firefighters "Fill the Boot for Burns" Boot Drive. FFBI hosts its Boot Drive each year in conjunction with National Burn Awareness Week in Citrus Heights at the corner of Sunrise Blvd. and Greenback Ln. at the Sunrise Mall in the Sunrise Marketplace. Firefighters will spend their day shaking their boots and volunteering their time to collect donations to support the Firefighters Burn Institute and assure the best possible burn treatment and recovery programs are available in our communities.

This fundraiser will be held in accordance with CDC COVID-19 guidelines.

Fire agencies in 20 Northern and Central California counties are also hosting "Fill the Boot for Burns" Boot Drive events during the next several months benefiting Firefighters Burn Institute.
