Placer Veterans Stand Down (PVSD) is hosting its 10th annual Military Veterans Stand Down event May 3-5, 2022 at the Gold Country Fairgrounds in Auburn. Optional early bird check-in will be available Monday, May 2, 2022 from 3 to 7 p.m. Veterans are also welcome to spend the night on Monday evening so they are ready to begin services Tuesday morning, May 3, at 8 a.m.
The signature event provides Veterans, their spouses and dependents a single place to obtain free medical, dental and vision services as well as legal services to assist with minor issues. Services will only be available Tuesday and Wednesday, May 3 and 4.
In addition to medical and legal services, Stand Down will include pet care, employment support and overnight accommodations for Veterans who want to stay through the duration of the event. Meals, snacks and beverages will be provided.
PVSD also invites members of the community to support the event as volunteers to serve meals, distribute clothing, help with security and a variety of other roles. In-kind service donations and monetary donations are also welcome and appreciated.
