DOCO, Downtown Commons Free Summer Events

DOCO (Downtown Commons) is kicking off summer with an entertaining music series, weekly Yoga on the Green fitness class and a high-energy artisan Makers Market. The summer events on the DOCO plaza are free and open to everyone.

Live at 5 Music Series – Thursdays at 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. from June through October

Shoppers and plaza guests will enjoy a free summer music series on the west plaza terrace (near Macy’s) on Thursday evenings starting tonight, June 2. The line-up will change each week, offering a diverse and eclectic variety of music including live acoustic acts and popular DJs. The June schedule includes:

  • 6/2 – Ryan Hernandez (singer, multi-instrumentalist)
  • 6/9 – Jacob Alexander (pop vocalist, song writer)
  • 6/16 – Kaz Haji (guitarist)
  • 6/23 – Seth Kaminsky (alternative pop singer-songwriter/looping artist)
  • 6/30 – Brian Chris Rogers (songwriter/bassist/drummer)

 

Yoga on the Green – Saturdays at 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. from June through July

Yoga on the Green, presented by CorePower Yoga, kicks off on June 4 and will be offered in the open-air space at DOCO in front of the entrance to Golden 1 Center. Classes will focus on CorePower Yoga 2, which aims to strengthen, balance and detoxify the entire body and mind as participants move through more challenging postures with connected breath. Led by passionate instructors and set to an energizing playlist, this free yoga series is suitable for all levels and available to ages 16 years or older. Participants must sign a waiver via their smartphone through a QR code and should bring their own mats (water bottles, small towels and sunscreen are also recommended).

 

Tropical Sundays – Sundays at 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. from June through August

Plaza guests will enjoy free family-friendly entertainment curated by Kandia Entertainment with local artists and DJs at Tahoe Blue Ridge on Sunday evenings starting on June 5. This summer music series will feature multicultural live music with a dance floor and salsa, bachata and cumbia lessons.

 

Makers Market – June 25 at 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Guests are invited to attend the high-energy DOCO Makers Market presented by River City Marketplace, showcasing 40 local vendors and artisans offering handmade specialty items. Additionally, the plaza will be filled with entertaining music.
