President Donald Trump laid out his plans for a U.S. takeover of the Gaza Strip in a post shared on his Truth Social account early Thursday (February 6) morning.

Trump claimed that the U.S. wouldn't need to take military action and promised "stability for the region" with "a chance" for the Palestinian people "to be happy, safe and free."

"The Gaza Strip would be turned over to the United States by Israel at the conclusion of fighting," Trump said. "The Palestinians, people like [Sen.] Chuck Schumer, would have already been resettled in far safer and more beautiful communities, with new and modern homes, in the region. They would actually have a chance to be happy, safe, and free. The U.S., working with great development teams from all over the World, would slowly and carefully begin the construction of what would become one of the greatest and most spectacular developments of its kind on Earth. No soldiers by the U.S. would be needed! Stability for the region would reign!!!"

Trump's post came one day after he publicly proposed that "all" Gaza Strip residents should leave the region amid the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas while hosting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the Oval Office on Tuesday (February 4).

“The US will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it too,” Trump said via the New York Post. “We’ll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site, level the site, and get rid of the destroyed buildings — level it out and create an economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and housing for the people of the area.”

More than 46,000 Palestinians have reportedly been killed in the Israel-Hamas war, the Gaza Health Ministry claimed via the Associated Press last month. The ongoing war stemmed from Hamas' terrorist attack on an Israeli music festival resulting in thousands of residents being killed and hundreds more being held hostage.
