The World Butcher’s Challenge – dubbed the ‘Olympics of Meat’ is in Sacramento this week (Sept 2-3) for the first time.

The international competition of the globe’s best butchers will take place in Golden 1 Center, with Sacramento’s own Danny Johnson and Paul Carras of Taylor’s Market at the head of Team USA. Visit Sacramento worked with the organizers to bring the event to Sacramento, beating out , beating out Paris and San Paulo, Brazil.
