Sac Ballet Auditions Young People for The Nutcracker this Saturday 9/10

WHAT: Sacramento Ballet has announced its 2022 Open Youth Auditions for Nutcracker, Tchaikovsky’s beloved ballet, an annual hometown tradition. The audition — this year held on September 10, 2022 — is open to all youth between the ages of 7 and 18 years old who are interested in rehearsing and performing with the renowned company this fall and throughout the December holiday season. 

WHEN: Saturday, September 10, 2022 

WHERE: Auditions will be held at SacBallet Studios, 2420 N Street, Sacramento, CA. Enter through the O Street parking lot, located between 24th and 25th Streets. Parking in the lot will be limited and spots are usually available on the street.  

HOW TO APPLY: All Sacramento area youth, from a minimum age of 7 up to 18 years old, are invited to audition. Dance experience is suggested. Candidates must be able to follow directions and sit calmly during auditions and subsequent rehearsals.

12 years and younger, height 4’7” and under 

8:30 am - Earliest sign-in begins

9:00 am - Auditions

12 years and younger, height 4’7” and taller

10:00 am - Earliest sign-in begins

10:30 am - Auditions start

12 and older, 5’3” or less

12:30 pm - Earliest sign-in begins

1:00 pm - Auditions start

12-14 years, taller than 5’3 

1:30 pm - Sign-in begins

2:30 pm - Auditions start

Youth 15 and older, taller than 5’3 

3:00 pm - Sign-in begins

4:00 pm - Auditions start
