Listen: Visit Sacramento President and CEO Mike Testa at Sacramento's State of Hospitality luncheon where plans for a new convention center hotel were revealed.
The 28 story hotel will be built in a parking lot on the corner of 15th and K and will have 330 rooms with a skywalk connecting the hotel to the convention center. It will also have 28 residential units, a 6,000-square-foot ballroom and meeting rooms.
Also, the city is announcing a 5-year deal to continue hosting the Ironman races. The previous 3-year deal was set to expire after this year's race. This will extend Sacramento's hosting contract for an additional 5 years.
