A much-anticipated and long-awaited girls’ high school basketball tournament approved by the NCAA and the CIF tips-off Thursday morning and continues through Saturday at the Roebbelen Center in Roseville.
More than 4,000 people – with about 1,500 athletes, incuding some of the most-recruited players by NCAA Division I schools – will participate in the three- day tournament.
About 100 teams – including several in the Sacramento region – will play in the tournament.
Girls California Live 23 will generate around $1 million for the economy in Placer Valley, from booking hotel rooms to enjoying meals at restaurants.
