The Woodland Opera House 2023-24 season opener is The SpongeBob Musical. Surprisingly, though the show is based on the Nickelodeon cartoon, "SpongeBob SquarePants," it's not just for kids - there is plenty in the way of great music, special effects, and an engaging story to interest adults. The original songs in the show were written by stellar artists such as David Bowie, John Legend, Cyndi Lauper, and even Joe Perry and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith (and more). The musical opened on Broadway in 2018 and was nominated for 12 Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
