Assistance League of Sacramento Scholarship Awardees Named.
Local community college students honored from the six local community colleges: American River, Cosumnes, Folsom, Sacramento City, Sierra College, and Woodland.
The reception is Tuesday, May 21, 5-7 p.m.

Several recipients have gone on to four-year colleges from Columbia to U.C.Berkeley, from CSU East Bay to U.C. Irvine.
Assistance League scholarship program began in 2010 with $500 scholarships. Since that time, 206 scholarships have been awarded, with more than $450,000 given. This year, Assistance League will award 33 scholarships totaling more than $92,000. First-time recipients and foster students will receive $2,500; previous winners will receive $4,000
More than $450,000 awarded since program inception
Assistance League of Sacramento has been serving the Greater Sacramento community for more than 55 years. Their scholarship program began in 2010. Since then, they have awarded more than $450,700 in scholarships to students whose life circumstances are more difficult than most. Scholarships are not based upon financial need or high GPA.
