The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration is sounding the alarm about a sharp increase in the trafficking of fentanyl mixed with xylazine which is typically a large animal tranquilzer.
A bill SB 1502, by Sen. Angelique Ashby that would add Xylazine or Tranq as it's called, to the list of serious drugs that include more serious state penalties for possessing, making and selling the drug was held by The Assembly Public Safety Committee with Chair Kevin McCarty.
Sen. Asbhy is discouraged because the drug has such dire effects.
