A fundraiser this Sunday is hosted by the VFW Post in Rancho Murieta, 12215 which has a very interesting program headed by Bill McCarver. Bill is a K9 handler and patrolled the Phang Rang Air Force base during Vietnam and then had a long career with the Mill Valley PD K9 Unit. The program is called Rescue A Hero. They adopt Dogs from the SPCA to train for the certain needs of Vets and/or First Responders, either companion or service.
