The Sacramento History Alliance hosting the 6th Annual Burnett Awards celebration on Thursday evening, October 10, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m. The Burnett Awards are named in honor of the late Burnett Miller – a native Sacramentan, former mayor, community icon, philanthropist, business leader and one of the city’s most prominent history enthusiasts. Each year, the Sacramento History Alliance honors venerable businesses that have met and withstood the test of time and are recognized contributors to the community culture in the Sacramento region.
The high-profile evening gala will take place in the expansive lobby of the Sacramento History Museum located at the Old Sacramento Waterfront. The event is a benefit fundraiser for the Sacramento History Museum
The 2024 Burnett Award honorees include the following:
- Bogle Family Vineyards -- The Bogle family began its legacy as a family farm in the late 1870’s. Nearly 100 years later, it established Clarksburg’s first vineyard and has been producing award-winning wines ever since, all of which showcase the rich territory of the Sacramento Delta region.
- Bertolucci’s Body and Fender Shop – A trusted name in automotive repair in Sacramento since 1948, Bertolucci's Body and Fender Shop provides expert service and quality craftsmanship to generations of customers.
- W.F. Gormley & Sons Funeral Chapel – One of Sacramento’s oldest businesses, Gormley & Sons has been a pillar of support for families during difficult times, offering compassion and professionalism since its founding nearly 127 years ago.
- Otto Construction -- With a legacy that began in 1947, Otto Construction has played a vital role in shaping the built environment of Sacramento and beyond, delivering quality construction projects with integrity, innovation, and expertise.
