Assemblymember Stephanie Nguyen (D-Elk Grove) joins the California Business Properties Association (CBPA), and local business owners to spotlight AB 1435 – The Business Clean-Up Relief Act of 2025, which offers tax relief to businesses facing cleanup costs from encampments on private property.
Sponsored by CBPA, AB 1435 provides a five-year tax credit (2026–2030) covering 100% of costs related to waste removal, vandalism repair, and security upgrades. The bill responds to increased encampment activity on commercial properties following the City of Grants Pass v. Johnson decision, which permits enforcement of no-camping laws on public land.
AB 1435 supports small businesses, boosts economic recovery in commercial corridors, and promotes safe, clean neighborhoods.
