ABOUT WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT:
Women’s Empowerment, which will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2026, offers the most comprehensive job-readiness program in the Sacramento area designed specifically to help women break the generational cycle of homelessness for themselves and their children. Each woman begins with an initial two-month program to secure housing and employment, and upon graduation can receive lifetime services, including paid job training and transitional workforce housing. In 2024, 155 graduates secured employment or enrolled in advanced training or school, and 89% of graduates maintained or improved their housing. Since 2001, 1,969 women have graduated from the program with their more than 4,000 children. Women’s Empowerment is funded through private donations from the community and grants.
