A Vox Christmas and the Quiet Miracle of Hope

Listen: Anna Larson.Vox Musica

Sacramento’s premier women’s vocal ensemble, proudly welcomes its 20th anniversary season with DREAM: A Vox Christmas and the Quiet Miracle of Hope, a luminous holiday concert that invites audiences to reflect, imagine, and be moved by the enduring power of women’s voices.

The season opens Friday, December 19, 2025, and continues Saturday, December 20, and Sunday, December 21, 2025, offering an evening of warmth, wonder, and connection in celebration of two decades of artistry and community.

We are a professional-level women’s vocal ensemble that presents innovative concert projects that perpetuate the stories of our community and beyond. We seek to engage and educate our audience through multi-media collaborative experiences. Vox Musica, directed by Daniel I. Paulson, was founded in 2006 in a niche of untapped potential in Sacramento’s budding classical music scene.

DREAM is Vox Musica’s winter offering, a luminous meditation on night, wonder, and hope,

featuring internationally acclaimed soprano Amanda Achen, whose soaring voice has

captivated audiences from major concert halls to the silver screen. Achen’s return to Vox

marks a rare and exciting collaboration for the ensemble, bringing her renowned artistry,

magnetic stage presence, and cinematic brilliance to this milestone 20th-anniversary

performance. Audiences will experience her extraordinary voice alongside Vox’s signature

harmonies in a program that celebrates two decades of musical storytelling. The concert

blends cherished Vox favorites for women’s voices with a newly commissioned work by

Composer-in-Residence Derek Sup, creating an evening of lullabies, visions, and prayers

that awaken the sacred quiet of the night - a reminder that even in the darkest season,

light endures and dreams are born anew.

"This season is not just a celebration of twenty years of Vox Musica, it’s a living archive of what happens when music becomes a

meeting place for wonder, reflection, and renewal. Every concert is designed as an encounter: between sound and silence, artist

and audience, past and possibility." - Daniel Paulson, Founder/Music Director of Vox Musica
