CA Auto Museum Needs Docents ASAP. Training Starts Jan 7.

 Interested in becoming a docent?

Our 4-month Docent Training Program, one of the most extensive and comprehensive in the region, is starting on January 7th, 2026! The course covers everything from automotive manufacturers to the science behind automobiles and the role of women in the automotive industry.

Docents are the heart and soul of CAM - they guide guests through the history and technology of the museum, keep the cars running and detailed, work events, and so much more. It is the perfect project for anyone who loves cars and has some extra time they would like to fill with something meaningful. We need signups to keep the museum going!

2026 classes run from Wednesday, January 7, 2026, through April 29, 2026. Classes are held on Wednesday nights from 6 pm to about 9 pm and a few Saturday mornings.

If you are interested in learning more about the program, please contact the museum at 916-442-6802 or email Doug Cook (dpcook001@gmail.com).

There are many additional ways to be a volunteer at the museum as well! Head to our "Volunteer" page for a list of opportunities or contact the museum by email at director@calautomuseum.org to see what would be a good fit for you.
