Blue Ribbons Honor Fallen Sheriff's Deputy

You may notice blue ribbons tied around trees all over Rancho Cordova. Those are to honor fallen sheriff's deputy Mark Stasyuk, who was killed in the line of duty on Monday. 

To show support for Stasyuk and all other law enforcement officers, the community is offering free blue ribbons to anyone who wants one. 

A representative from the City of Rancho Cordova says they're hurting, but receiving an outpouring of support from residents who want to help.

Here are the 11 locations where you can pick up a free blue ribbon to honor Stasyuk and other law enforcement: 

·         RCPD, 2897 Kilgore Road, Rancho Cordova, Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM

·         Rancho Cordova City Hall, 2729 Prospect Park Drive, Rancho Cordova, Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM

One Sac County Sheriff's Deputy Killed, One Injured In Rancho Cordova

A 38-year-old from Rancho Cordova has been identified as the suspect in Monday's shootout that left one officer dead and another injured.
